Copper Week #6

Ok... Seriously.... my baby needs to stop growing! I feel like the last six weeks have absolutely flown by. Its a little sad really, I feel like there isn't enough time in the day to take in all his cute faces and sounds. I just know he will be 6 months before I know it and my little tiny baby will be all grown up! Aside from that, we had a lot of fun together this week. Doesn't he look bigger!!!

Yes, Copper models a lot of outfits :) We had a family beach day and took in all the beautiful weather.

Little Old Man outfit

Copper is VERY good at flirting with mama

We had a park date with our old neighbors and their baby Luke. He was born on May 31st.

I have NO idea how I capture all these funny faces. He just cracks me up!

My favorite time of day: Bath time!

Very cozy in the K'tan. I managed to clean the house with Copper all snuggly. He was a big fan of the vacuum.
At the grocery store... that face just kills me
Another squirly face
We are getting ready for a big adventure together... camping! That's right... 10 days in nature :) I can't wait to show Copper how much fun we will have. Hopefully we come back in 1 piece!! LOTS of updates when we get back!

Copper Week 5, #2

Apparently I don't know how to calculate my son's age.... He just turned 6 weeks on July 15th, so this last week was his 5th week :) Anyway.... Here are some more Copper adventures!

We like to spend quality couch time together... Copper isn't so sure...

He loooves bath time....very cozy after splashin' around

This week we joined a friend for "Infant Times." It is a song and sign class for babies. Copper soaked it in...
Working on his smile

I realized all the pictures I take are just of Copper, usually laying down... so we took a picture together :)
Closer to that smile!

We also got together with my mom (Granny) for lunch so she could finally hold her grandson. She came to visit at the hospital right when Copper was taken tot he NICU... so she didn't ever get a chance to hold him... she was enjoying every minute!

Papa has been working A LOT!!! So we have been making regular visits :)

SMILE! This week, Copper finally smiled at me :) JOY JOY JOY! Capturing it was another challenge...

This was a regular... Sleep smiles
OK week 6 is coming up... wow, already 6 weeks!

Copper Week #5 July 1-7

Ok, time just flies when you have a baby! I feel like I can't even take pictures fast enough...Here are some Copper adventures we have had the last 10 days :)

Poor Copper has to put up with his mother dressing him up all the time. We have received so many wonderful hand-me-down clothes so Copper's wardrobe is growing... and so is he. He just has to show off all his cute outfits :) This is his Sunday golf outfit!

We went down to visit Aunty Mimi in Oxnard and this is what happens...
Yes, I realize this is baby torture.. but I just had to... This was a baby beenie with goggles sewed onto it... not sure how that worked out but Copper had to try them on.. "What's up ladies?" Lots of lounging at home... and Copper is slowly growing into his Pj's

With all the wonderful sunshine lately, we needed a water activity for the little man.. A wonderful family gave us this little pool, and Copper loved it. He is definitely a water baby :)

Cute Copper

Capturing some cute pictures of Mr. Copper!

4th of July

Fourth of July this year was great! It was really easy and enjoyable... we didn't HAVE to be anywhere or have too many options of things to do.. this probably comes with being new parents :) We started the day by sleeping in and cleaning the house from the day before (this happens most every morning). Our wonderful friends Christin, Tyler and their son Ryder were in town and staying at their beach house in Carpinteria. We were invited to join them for an afternoon in the sun, how could we pass that up? Ty got to play in the water and I enjoyed a couple margaritas while holding my boy!
Then we headed up to the Mesa and Ty made a wonderful dinner for myself and Wyatt (Ty's brother). We relaxed and had no plans really until our friend Max called and asked us to join them down at his girlfriend Michelle's house right on Shoreline. I realized that there wasn't a stroller in sight so we had to come up with some way to transport our precious cargo... Ty's father took an old stroller that they had about 20 years ago and rigged it up to be a surf board carrier. This WAS our only option, and poor Copper did great. We bundled him up and to my surprise it actually worked out great. There were about a million people down at the park but we had our friends and family and that was the best. The fire works were nice but I couldn't help but think that this time next year we will have a 1 year old!!! aaahhh

Copper's First Ocean Adventure

Friday afternoon we headed down to Rincon for a family adventure. Ty wanted to go surfing, so we tagged along for some sunshine. Copper fell asleep right when we got there but it wasn't long before Papa was out of the water and needed some Copper time. Ty took Copper down to the ocean to feel the water. Watch the video below to witness his first ocean adventure...

Copper Week #4 June 24-30

Another week for Copper, and he sure is growing! It is really hard for me to tell when I get to stare at him all day.... but we recently visited the pediatrician and she said he is a growing boy! He is now up to 9 pounds 10 ounces, and about 22 1/2 inches long! Talk about a growth spurt :)

Ty recently went back to work which is very sad for us... we love having him home. Copper and I are having some fun times though. This week our favorite things to do are: lots of tummy time, and hangin out... playing with Kayda and new toys.... going on adventures together :) Our pediatrician said it is time to start reading together. I will give more updates on that soon :) For now, here are some fun pictures of mr.C!
Learning how to be a rock star
Copper's work outfit

We have been taking lots of neighborhood walks together :)

And doing lots of hard sleeping!

We also attempted solstice this year. Copper wore his surfer outfit and clearly wasn't impressed with solstice folks....
then he had his own solstice adventure :)

Amazing how hard it is to take pictures one handed...
