12 weeks or 3 months?

I have come to the conclusion that Copper is 12 weeks today... he will be 3 months on September 3rd... does that make sense? or am I crazy? I feel like I am crazy because I cannot believe little baby Copper is already 12 weeks!!! I know I will say this again and again, but I feel like it was just yesterday that he was born.
He discovered his hands, and can't keep them out of his mouth...

He is working on grabbing his ball
Doing a very good job at keeping his head up
He wants to sit up all the time... lying down is apparently just for babies... and he is a master at figuring out ways to get his hands out of his swaddle. We love to mimic each other making noises and the smiles just keep comin! Still waiting for that laugh or giggle but I know its right around the corner. I am going back to work on September 1st, and I really hope I don't miss any of these special moments :( I know it will be good for both of us, but I just can't stand leaving this precious boy... luckily he will be in great hands!

Dylan's Going Away Party

Yes, there comes a time when a young man must face the adventure of College.... Dylan, smartypants... got into Point Loma! Sad for us, it is all the way in San Diego :( Because he is transfering there, he will only have to spend a couple years to finish his degree. We will look forward to updates and see him at every holiday occasion of course! We might even have to visit Uncle Dylan for a long weekend :)
Sooo... we celebrated with him for a last hoora! Lots of Dylan's friends showed up, we ate and ate and ate.

Copper and Dad had matching outfits :)
Friends all sat around and chatted, laughed and had a great time together.

This is what happens when Travers gets ahold of the camera...
Fun memories Dyl, you'll make many more in college!

Hollister Ranch Hoedown

The Hollister Ranch hosted their annual hoedown and this time we got to go as a family! Last year, there was a smaller group but this year around 600 people showed up!! It was a gorgeous day and there was yummy BBq'd HR tri tip! Aside from the food, the entertainment was insane - Jackson Browne AND David Crosby (Crosby, Stills and Nash) played! Copper was such a trooper... he napped really well and really enjoyed dancing to the music. We are finding it easier and easier to travel as a family, and I think we are having more fun now WITH Copper!

Such a good sleeper!

Kayda was begging from Jackson Browne... how rude!

Fun game of Horseshoes

The weather was sooo wonderful

Copper gave away some of his best smiles that day!
When it cooled off at night, he was prepared...

Can't wait till next year, when he will be wearing his cowboy boots and running around!!

2 month check up!

Yes, Copper is already 11 weeks, so really closer to 3 months! He is growing like crazy, I swear he doesn't fit in any of his onesies anymore....
We had a check up with Dr. Hamdani the other day and we were right... he is a big boy! Here are his stats:
80th percentile for weight - 13 pounds!
95th percentile for height - 25 inches! thats 4 inch growth since birth! 4 whole inches!!!!

Dr. Hamdani told us that he is "thriving" and asked if I was putting any human growth hormone in my breast milk... ha
She also delighted us with the comment that he is acting more like a 4 month old with his motor skills and strength :) Copper also showed off for her by rolling over from his tummy to his back... something I had never seen him do!

Our little monster is quite the chunker but delighting us with his smiles and giggles every day!

With Dad at the docs
Sooo big!
Known for his serious expressions!
and wonderful smiles!

Trinity 2011 and Copper 9 week update

Yes it was time again to revisit Trinity Lake! The Perkins gang +1 (Copper) made the long drive up to the beautiful scenic getaway. Before we left, I was a little nervous about bringing a 2 month old baby along for the ride. Thinking about nursing in a tent was a little overwhelming. I tried to remember what a blast this trip was last year and how important it is to getaway as a family and share time and create memories. Being surrounded by family only makes everything that much better and we really did have soooo much fun! I am sooo glad Copper got to experience being surrounded by nature and taking in so many new sights and sounds. Can't wait for next year - Copper will be quite a handful :)

Lots of napping

and fun with Papa and 9 weeks old!

Ty's famous tuna tacos

Copper's Meet and Greet

Jeannie, a.k.a. Gigi, the best Grandmother ever... hosted a meet and greet for Copper. Family and friends from the Perkins side got together to celebrate little C! It was so nice to catch up with everyone and spend time together. I hope we get to do this again because the Perkins just have too much fun together :)
