Out for an afternoon walk as a family, we decided to stop at the park by our house. Copper is a little young to be playing on any of the "fun" stuff but we gave it a try anyway! I think he liked it... we will have to be patient though...

Family Day!
This was the first weekend after going back to work that I could actually enjoy. Last weekend we were both sick :( We started by joining Granny and Dave at the beach for a doggie play date! Kayda really needed some running since Ty has been working so much. Granny and Dave's dog, "Beach" can really run, and he and Kayda are best friends!
After that, we headed over to the Perkins to meet Jeannie for another adventure. We went to see "Nanna" (Copper's Great Grandmother :) She is always thrilled to see us, and her great grandson! I absolutely LOVE visiting family and making memories with Copper. As cheesy as that sounds... its true :) Family is so very important to us, we cherish every chance we can get!
After that, Jeannie, Copper and I went over to Station 14 where Sabin (Grandpa) was working for a visit. Ty and Sabin have really been working SO much, so we have to go to them if we want to see them :)
After that... Copper and I headed over to station 18 (Gaviota) to visit Ty. It was a long drive and I don't really know how we fit it in but it was worth it. We got to go on a walk and spend some time just chatting together.

We were all exhausted so we then finally headed home for bath time. It was a VERY long day but very full.. full of wonderful FAMILY!

First Cold :(
Little Copper man got his first cold this week. Unfortunately, we were both sick... and sick babies are tough. The only good thing about being sick, is that we were able to snuggle in bed together for most of the day :) Ty was able to come home for about 12 hours before returning to work after an 8 day stretch, and when Copper woke up at 11pm because he couldn't breathe... Ty was up with him all night. Such a wonderful papa!
He is a very good sick baby
Aside from being miserable in the middle of the night, he is an absolute gem! He hardly cries and he lets me use the sucky thing to get his boogies out all the time. I don't look forward to any future colds but he sure is a trooper!

BOB... Baby on Board
It was time to give in... I've wanted a BOB for sooo long, and we were able to borrow one from a friend for our camping trip. That is when I realized how useful and wonderful the BOB is and how much we needed one. After all those years of babysitting, I knew in the back of my mind that I would really want one but when it came down to it and after I realized how much they cost... I thought I could survive without one... but come on... who can survive without a BOB? When I heard the new version was coming out for 2011, I was in there... but right when I needed one the most... everyone else apparently needed one too. There seriously wasn't a BOB in sight. I was put on the waiting list for mid August. Well, mid august came and went... but early September was here :)
A much needed lunch date with my Dad and a stroll in the new BOB was planned. Copper couldn't wait to try it out. We picked it up from Chicken Little and the employees there graciously set it up for us. A previous customer who had the Orbit stroller had used the Graco stroller adapter and said it pretty much did the job, so we went with it... it was a little bulky but let's just say Copper is now riding in the Cadillac of strollers :)
We had to try out the new digs... so we parked far away and walked to the pier. Wrong weekend to walk to the pier... Labor Day Weekend... Everyone had the same idea we did. Fish n' Chips hit the spot.
Both of us needed a nap when we got home... but of course little C was not feelin it...
The next best thing was mommy happy hour at our old neighbors' house Tony and Renee. They have three.. yes... THREE kiddos. Sophie (6), Brianna (2) and Luke (3 months). I used to teach Sophie ballet and when we moved in across the street we were fast friends. It was also nice being preggo together for those nice neighborhood walks. They now live out in Goleta but clearly the BOYS will be great friends too. Distance makes the heart grow fonder...

Full of Love
We just had another cardiologist appointment to check on Copper's heart... and we are sooo happy because Dr. Harake said he is just perfect!! I knew that already but it sure was good to hear! Just going to monitor him and make sure the valve grows with him over the next few months and probably years but the doc was very happy with the update! Dr. harake was also wondering what I was feeding him because he is just sooo big :) I guess I just grow em' big!
