Our Romantic Getaway...

So my wonderful husband surprised me with a little romantic getaway. Dont you just love when that happens? I was sooo excited but the whole thing was a complete surprise so I had NO idea where we were going. Ty didn't actually tell me until we arrived at the SB airport to board a 7am flight for sacramento... um... where would we be going if we were flying to Sacramento? Then he dropped the bomb. We were headed for 2 days in Napa followed by 3 days in San Francisco! I could not wait to get there!
We finally got to Sacramento and headed to Enterprise to rent a car. We totally got hooked up and rented a black Camero! It was the best thing ever to cruise around Napa in and Ty couldn't have been more stoked!

We arrived at The Milliken Creek Inn & Spa and were instintly pampered with a great glass of wine and stroll around the property. Our room wasn't quite ready yet so we decided to do some exploring. We headed up to Yountville, about a 20 minute drive from our Inn. We stopped at Hill Family Estate winery for a quick tasting.

It was a very cute little spot and we bout our first bottle of wine the first 2 hours we were there :) Then we needed some refreshments so we were recommended to go to Redd. We had an AMAZING meal of Tuna and Himachi tar tar with fried rice and calamari with tamarind sauce.

We just HAD to get dessert and with their very intense dessert menu we just ordered the first thing that sounded amazing. Ty had this butterscotch amazingness and I ordered a strawberry ruhbarb creme with miniature churros. They werent really churros but thats what they tasted like!

Then we headed to Jessup Winery and were treated to a private tasting of their wonderful wine! Bob was our very knowledgeable and very passionate wine specialist and helped us with our "tasting". It was magical and we had such a wonderful time! Ty is VERY good at tasting wine now. Just ask and he will give you a great demonstration!

The scenary was absolutely beautiful and we just couldnt get enough of the beautiful hills, flowers, clean air and quite sidewalks.

There were sooo many places I wanted to see but our time was limited. I guess we will just have to go back :)

We arrived back at our hotel and got to see our wonderful room! It was sooo private and lovely. You just dont know how badly you need Alone time till you actually get it!

Our breakfast patio!

Our first evening for dinner, we decided to try out the "Wine Train". We had a feeling it might be a little cheesy but if we didnt try it, we would always be wondering what it would have been like.

We were right... it was super cheesy and we even had to pay for our wine! We met some great new friends on the train so it wasnt all that bad but they were literally going through the train taking pictures... like at Disneyland that you can buy at the end... soooo cheesy!

This was Ty's picture!

The next day, we were determined to do some Olive Oil tasting. I wasnt feeling so hot after all that wine... so we stopped into a recommended restaurant The Rutherford Grill for a heavy meal.
I ordered the short ribs and ty got a french dip... ugh it sure was tasty though!

After this meal... we decided to walk 1.1 miles to the Olive Oil tasting. We figured out that 1.1 miles is a lOT longer when you walk! We got super silly to make the best of it!

Miles and miles of vineyards!

We walked all that way and apparently they only take appointments... ugh!

So we made it all the way up to Calistoga to visit Lava Vine. There were supposed to more olive oil tasting there but when we got there... they were all out! Olive oil just wasnt in the cards!

So we ended our trip to Napa with LOTS of wine to take home and some great relaxation! There was sooo much fun to be had and we just soaked it all in! Off to SF, more pictures to come!
